Girls' Weekend at Bear Lake
I'm almost caught up on all the things that we have done this summer. The dates on the blog are not necessarily the dates that the trips and events took place.
Last weekend, August 15-17, my friends Tara and Melanie and I took a little girls' getaway to Bear Lake. We stayed at Melanie's families cabin. WOW! We had a fantastic time.
Friday night we enjoyed a yummy milkshake and a walk on the beach (a little chilly, but fun). Saturday, we took advantage of not having any kids to wake us up, and slept until almost 10:00. Then while Melanie went to the store to buy supplies for a delicious breakfast of blueberry pancakes, Tara and I decided to go for a "little" walk. Ok, note to self, never take a "little walk" with a girl that runs marathons. I just about died on the hike back up the hill. Tara actually ran ahead of me and got the car to come to my rescue. I know, embarrassing. Oh, well. After breakfast and a little time to recover, we went golfing. WOW again! What a view from the golf course. We didn't keep score, we were on vacation. Nothing mattered. After golf, it was time for a quick lunch and some sun time at the cabin. We were going to go to the lake or the pool, but we were a little short on time. See, we had tickets to a play and dinner. We went to the Pickleville Playhouse to see "The Wild West Show". That was really fun since my cousin's daughter was in the play and I have heard all about her acting career, I finally got to see it for myself. After the show was dinner. At night was more relaxing, along with a little of the Olympics and some game time.
We went to church the next day and then headed home. Thanks, Mel for a great time. What a great getaway for the end of summer.
